For 24-hours on May 21, the Sarpy County Museum will participate in Omaha Gives!, an online fundraising event. This annual fundraiser organized by the Omaha Community Foundation is an easy way for small and large nonprofits to get the word out about their activities, events and programming. Minimum online gifts are $10. As a bonus, the foundation provides incentives and prizes for the nonprofits that generate the most buzz or donations over the event. Mark this date on your calendar and see your money put to work at the Sarpy County Museum.
Some of our projects include:
+ Bringing a 1967 Union Pacific caboose from Springfield to the museum as additional exhibit space.
+ Purchasing a custom display case for our collection of 1857 US minted coins.
+ Creating a new exhibit, “Crime and Punishment in Sarpy County.”
