More than 80 quilts will be on display at the Sarpy County Museum in Bellevue, Nebraska June 1 – Aug. 16. This annual show features both historic and modern quilts created or owned by Sarpy County residents. Visitors can pick up a self-guided tour program to learn the story behind each quilt.
The Great Sarpy County Quilt Exhibit, “Depression to Digital: Celebrating 80 Years of Quilting,” will begin with a Trunk Show featuring Marjean Sargent, June 1 from 2-4 p.m. Sargent will discuss the history and design of crazy quilts. Refreshments will be served.
Other events planned to coincide with the show include Saturday afternoon demonstrations and a quilt raffle. The 2014 raffle quilt, “Sarpy Stars,” is a queen-sized, red, white and blue original design by award-winning quilter Dorothy Muse. Tickets are available at the museum.
