Baseball is always a good idea. That’s what news writers for the Gretna Breeze thought in 1924 when they advocated for a Sarpy County summer baseball organization — and it holds true today.
In honor of the great area baseball tradition of the past, the Sarpy County Museum is organizing a Throwback Game, Aug. 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Werner Park in Papillion. The event will feature two teams of softball players in a 6-inning barnstormer for county bragging rights. This family event will include a baseball historical display, kids games, softball, handwritten scoring, throwback uniforms and more.
