The Golden Age of Advertising-Fundraiser Dinner @ Bellevue University, John B. Muller Administrative Services Building
Jul 28 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Tune in for the Sarpy County Museum’s upcoming annual fundraiser on July 28th from 5 – 7 PM at Bellevue University. This dinner is our biggest event of the year! The theme will highlight when ads were art during the Golden Age of Classic Advertising in the 1950s and 60s.  Join us for an evening of dinner, entertainment, and fun raffle prizes and help keep history alive.  We encourage our attendees to dress in their best 50s or 60s attire. Or just have fun by wearing something gold to represent the “golden age.”

Each year, thousands of visitors come through our doors to see what is old – and new. In 2018, we have virtually completed restoration on our Union Pacific caboose, continued digitizing the Sarpy County newspapers and indexing court records and offered tours for approximately 900 school children.  These opportunities can only continue through support like yours.

I am a great-grandson of Rumsey Saling. Descent is through his son Glen Robert Saling, and granddaughter Madeline Clara Saling Laux (my mother). I can give you more details, but the purpose of this message is to tell you that I am in possession of a four-piece pewter tea set, inscribed “Mr and Mrs Saling, 1857-1882”, obviously a silver wedding anniversary presentation.
I propose to donate it to the Museum, if you are interested. I can send photos, if you will give me an email address.
For now, please let me know if you are interested
