Join the Sarpy County Museum as we host Fashions of WWI – The Tailored Years. Step back in time and look at fashions from 1910 thru 1920 leading up to the war, during the war and post war. This free event, held at the Sarpy County Museum, is open to the public and sponsored by Humanities Nebraska.

This program aims to take you on a trip through time as Sue shares her love of vintage clothing. Program attendees will learn about the fashions from the past and leave with a greater appreciation for why we should treasure these artifacts. Several of the museums’ clothing artifacts from this time era will also be on display for visitors to enjoy.

Susan McLain, better known as “Yesterday’s Lady,” lives with her husband in a historic 1887 building, with her vintage clothing collection and shop, 5th Street Vintage,  on the main level in downtown Beatrice, NE. Sue has been collecting vintage clothing for 25 years and has a wide variety of artifacts, ranging from the 1840’s through the 1970’s. As a Nebraska Humanities speaker, she has traveled the Midwest entertaining groups with a wide selection of fashion programs and shows.
